Dear all, welcome to the home page for the first month of the 20 Books of Summer challenge 2026.
I been overwhelmed by the number of you joining in – thank you! I’ve tried to get around all of your posts, but forgive me if I’ve missed yours.
If you still need to pick up any of the logos, or the bingo card please head over HERE to the announcement post. Now, remember this is the most relaxed kind of challenge – the aim is to have fun reading over the summer.
- The #20BOS26 challenge runs from Monday June 1st to Monday August 31st
- The first rule of 20 Books is that there are no real rules, other than signing up for 10, 15 or 20 books and trying to read from your TBR. (If you think you’ll only manage 5, that’s fine too.)
- Pick your list in advance, or nominate a bookcase to read from, or pick just at whim from your TBR, be they old or new additions.
- If you do pick a list, you can change it at any time – swap books in/out.
- Don’t get panicked at not reaching your target, it’s not really a challenge as such.
- Just enjoy a summer of great reading and make a bit of space on your shelves!
- Don’t forget to add your posts to the monthly linkys. The final one will stay open till for a week into September to catch the last reviews.
When you post a review, either comment or add your link to the Linky below (on the Linky, If you add the book title after your name that would be perfect.)
I’m looking forward to visiting all your links!
🍦 🏖️ HAPPY SUMMER READING! 🏖️ 🍦

Here’s to a great few months of reading Annabel!
And I left you the honour of being the first on the Linky! I am now second, but didn’t have enough room to write the two titles.
Thanks!
What a tremendous start right from the off! Enjoyed your Lego piece by the way – after the anti-Trump Iranian Lego vids on social media the coloured blocks seem, for better or worse, to be firmly lodged in the collective unconscious. 🤔
Hi, Annabel😊 I just posted my first book review for the challenge, and the link is here:

Happy reading!
I’ve added my second book to the Linky but forgot to add the title! It’s All My Puny Sorrows. Thank you for adding my first book for the challenge, Annabel.
Ah! The Miriam Toews. Been meaning to read that…
This challenge is really helping me drag myself up from the reading slump I’ve been in!
Oops, I failed here, I had to do a Bit.ly link and then I forgot to add the two titles. Stan Grant’s “The Queen is Dead” and Anita Heiss’ “Am I Black Enough for You?” have started my campaign https://librofulltime.wordpress.com/2026/06/14/starting-my-20-books-of-summer-with-two-books-by-indigenous-authors-stan-grant-the-queen-is-dead-and-anita-heiss-am-i-black-enough-for-you/
