Just a brief note to say I’m over at Shiny New Books today with my review of the delightful Everything Will Swallow You by Tom Cox. It’s a lovely and chucklesome ‘Shaggy Dog’ story (with the quote marks, read and you’ll understand why) of male friendship. If you read his previous novel Villager, you’ll know what style to expect. If you loved Leonard and Hungry Paul by Rónán Hession, this novel adds some British folklore, psychogeography and lots of old records – highly recommended. Sadly, Tom was ill when I was booked to see him at Blackwell’s last month which would have been great fun – next time…
