White Tears by Hari Kunzru

I loved Kunzru’s last novel Gods Without Men (reviewed here), so I was really keen to read his latest. White Tears is the story of two young white men who discover and appropriate an old blues song, which drives them to the edge. It’s very thought-provoking and made me examine my own attitudes to music, along with being a cracking good story about the blues.

I’m so interested that you liked both of these books! I adored White Tears, but when I went back to try his backlist, I couldn’t get on with Gods without Men at all. White Tears, though. Definitely one of my top books of the year.

White Tears was so thought-provoking. I wish I could remember Gods Without Men better, but according to my review I did love it!
