The Book Blogger’s Prize – the results are in!

It’s been a while coming, but the results are finally in and a winner has been announced. Sadly it wasn’t me!

However, I’d like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for me and my review of Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, a book I’ve championed since its publication last autumn.

The winner is Emily Powter-Robinson of Em’s Shelf Love, (right) who reviewed The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai.

Congratulations to Emily!

It’s been fun taking part though, and great to get into print in NB Magazine, an avenue I’d love to pursue if I can.

I’m sorry you didn’t win, Annabel (I voted for you, of course!), but the shortlisting was an honour and I hope will lead to good things for you. It’s very interesting to me that The Mountains Sing won — it also won the debut novel of the year as voted for by readers of BookBrowse, another web magazine I write for. Clearly a reader favorite! Makes me think I should check it out.

Thank you for your support Rebecca. NB have said they’ll be in touch re future opportunities, so that’s a big plus. Meanwhile, I’ll certainly look this book out when it arrives in paperback – or heaven forfend – I see it in the library!
