Shiny Booker Week

We’re celebrating The Man Booker Prize at Shiny New Books this week, as the prize gears up to its 50th year with the Golden Booker being announced at the weekend (I’m going to the prize ceremony in London).  I do urge you to take a look – as each day we’re celebrating a different decade of the prize, alongside some of the great shortlisted books that missed out.  So, if I’m not here, I’ll be at Shiny…

      The only one I’ve read of the five is The English Patient – I remember enjoying it a lot, so I voted for that. I suspect that Wolf Hall may win, but Moon Tiger is much loved too… I am also going to one of the sessions earlier in the afternoon – Roddy Doyle and Paul Beatty talking about comedy in literature – looking forward to that a lot.
